Director of Design and Innovation

Samuel Falade is Director of Design and Innovation at The Avatar Effect. An interdisciplinary researcher and experience designer, his work connects technology, design, and human learning. With a background in petroleum engineering, geophysics, visualization, and interdisciplinary engineering, he brings a rare combination of technical depth, creative thinking, and user-centered problem-solving to every project he takes on.

His work focuses on designing interactive digital experiences that make complex ideas more accessible, engaging, and meaningful. Drawing from expertise in game-based learning, instructional design, multimedia production, and UX-informed design, he is interested in creating solutions that are both research-driven and practical in real-world settings.

He is currently a Ph.D. Candidate at Texas A&M University, where his research explores how interactive systems, feedback design, and immersive environments can support problem-solving, engagement, and learning. His broader interests include educational technology, digital product design, and the use of emerging tools to build experiences that help people better understand, navigate, and respond to challenges.

Across his work, he combines analytical rigor with creative execution, using design not just to make things look better, but to make them work better for the people they serve. Whether developing interactive environments, designing learning experiences, or shaping digital tools, he is driven by a commitment to creating thoughtful, human-centered solutions with lasting impact.
