Dr. Jason Spencer is Founder and Chairman of The Avatar Effect, a research-driven platform building intelligent systems that bridge AI, XR, and adaptive learning. He is a Principal Inventor with 6 patents and 39 modular inventions filed through the Texas A&M Innovation Center, focused on adaptive narrative systems, AI-driven curriculum alignment engines, spatial computing platforms, and generative media infrastructure.

A Ph.D.-trained researcher in virtual film production and XR pedagogy from Texas A&M University, Dr. Spencer has spent 20+ years bridging traditional media production with emerging technology. His production and editorial work spans Emmy- and Peabody Award-winning projects alongside Ken Burns, Lynn Novick, and David Wolper, with credits including Jazz (PBS), Frank Lloyd Wright (PBS), Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List (Bravo), and work with Henry Hampton's Blackside Inc. and CNN. He brings deep expertise in multi-camera production, AVID editorial, archival research, broadcast delivery, and post-production supervision across documentary, reality television, and series television workflows.

His research and innovation have focused on generative media systems, real-time rendering pipelines, virtual production workflows in Unreal Engine and Unity, and AI-powered narrative personalization. He has collaborated with NASA and IEEE on simulation ethics, spatial media, XR telepresence, and AI applications in education. He served as Producer and Creative Director for the Juneteenth International Museum (Galveston, TX)—a $7 million national institution approved in 2025—designing spatial storytelling experiences and the flagship exhibition Vision and Voices of Emancipation, which uses AI-driven narrative systems and immersive film, serving 5,000+ visitors.

Dr. Spencer has taught 30+ university courses across Texas A&M University, Prairie View A&M University, The Art Institutes, and Guttman Community College (CUNY), reaching 1,800+ students. He doubled student internship placements by aligning curriculum with industry demands and emerging technology. He built a 16,000+ LinkedIn following and previously grew Twitter to 81,000+ followers through strategic content and community building. He is Hootsuite-Certified in social media analytics and strategy, spent 3 years as a Ford Motor Company brand influencer, and is a recipient of fellowships from the Norman Lear Family Foundation and the Puffin Foundation.
